The panther's inspiration in Cartier It is a long story. It began in the 1918 when Jeanne Toussaint was invited by Louis Cartier to join the great house of Haute Joaillerie. There she created jewelry adorned with panther motifs. For The Maison Cartier, These iconic pieces will become a signature.

« Often, the dangerous and predatory aspect of ferrets is associated with women of character… »
What about Joséphine Baker, who walked her panther Chiquita through all of Paris in the 1930s, or Colette wearing a leopard skin!

These women inspired Jeanne Toussaint.
