Sea of Wonder, Tiffany & Co. unveils a Blue Book 2025 inspired by the depths
With Sea of Wonder, Tiffany & Co. The exploration of his haute jewelry universe continues as Nathalie Verdeille, artistic director of jewelry, immerses herself in an aquatic imaginary. Designed by Nathalie Verdeille, artistic director of jewelry, this new edition of the Blue Book traverses submerged landscapes, between undulating vegetation, marine creatures, and intangible flows. A tribute to the aesthetic vocabulary of Jean Schlumberger, whose creative shadow casts a shadow over this aquatic odyssey.
The collection opens with the Oceanic Flora, a chapter that captures the exuberance of underwater gardens. Among the highlights is a necklace studded with Zambian emeralds that creates the illusion of suspended, light and moving leaves above a carpet of diamonds. The contrast between the dense vegetation and the transparency of the stones creates a scene suspended in midair.
The story continues with the Hippocampes, who reinterpret the brooches designed by Schlumberger in 1968. Here, the volumes are crafted from carved moonstone, enhanced with zircons and sapphires. The interplay of colors and textures gives these mythical figures a new presence, oscillating between abstraction and figuration.
In another context, the sea turtle inspires sculptural pieces enriched with gold and diamond details. The pendant, which can be converted into a brooch thanks to a discreet mechanism, evokes the migration of this animal between the elements. Its carefully engraved shell becomes an almost architectural motif.
The Star of the Sea, for its part, moves away from a literal reproduction to enter into a more conceptual dynamic. The rubies from Mozambique are juxtaposed with rose-cut and yellow gold diamonds in complex compositions with celestial overtones. The result evokes less biology than the memory of the star as a shape or imprint.
The geometric volumes of the Ursin find a new dimension thanks to the pained enamel, a historical technique that has been brought back into fashion. These pointed shapes, rendered precious by the artisans’ hands, evoke both nature and the House’s ornamental tradition.
Finally, the chapter Waves concludes the journey. The necklace Wave, Structured around intense blue Elbaite tourmalines, it illustrates the power of the sea movement. Inspired by the necklace Leaves From Schlumberger, this piece translates the flow of water into an almost living form.
Far from the fixed representations, Sea of Wonder offers a poetic reading of the depths, driven by demanding craftsmanship and great creative freedom.
