Forget flashy diamonds; make way for a velvety glow. This season, Place Vendôme embraces darkness, sculptural forms and exceptional rarity. With the Dark Grey Gold Earring, Repossi unveils the ninth creation in its Limited Editionsseries: an earring that makes a statement without ever raising its voice.

What Is Repossi’s Limited Edition No. 9 ?
Twice a year, the house unveils a singular creation produced in limited quantities. The concept, known as “Limited Editions”, gives Gaia Repossi and the creative studio complete artistic freedom. Each piece brings avant-garde design into dialogue with the exceptional craftsmanship of an iconic Place Vendôme maison.
This ninth edition draws inspiration from traditional eighteenth-century African ear ornaments, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Its sculptural frontal silhouette, broad curves that gently embrace the earlobe and assertive presence give it a distinctive character.

A Dark Grey Gold Earring with Anthracite Reflections
The defining feature of this creation is its dark grey gold, with anthracite reflections that evoke the strength of steel. A delicate line of pavé-set diamonds provides a striking contrast, like a thread of light against dark metal. The result is futuristic in spirit, yet refined in its elegance.
Seen from the front, its amplified construction creates broad, sweeping curves. This is where the earring becomes a piece of wearable architecture rather than a mere accessory.
Alberto Repossi’s Archives as a Source of Inspiration
The construction and setting echo the iconic creations of Alberto Repossi and the house’s archives, drawing inspiration from the imposing ear jewellery of the 1960s and 1970s. These generously proportioned clip-on earrings celebrated bold volumes. Today, Repossi reinterprets them through a modern, minimalist vocabulary that remains faithful to the house’s DNA.
This tension between volume and restraint runs throughout Repossi’s history. Rooted in a family tradition dating back to 1957 in Turin, the house established itself in Monte Carlo before moving to Place Vendôme in 1986. It became known for its interplay between solid forms and negative space, a defining characteristic of collections such as Serti sur Vide, Antifer and Berbère.

How to Wear It ?
A sculptural jewel needs very little around it. Against a black shirt or a roll-neck sweater, the dark grey gold blends seamlessly into the outfit, while the diamonds catch the light. Worn alone, without any other jewellery, it becomes the focal point of the look. With just fifteen pieces available worldwide, the Limited Edition No. 9 is less a seasonal accessory than a potential collector’s piece. The Dark Grey Gold Earring does not seek to shine. It asserts itself through steel-grey tones, controlled volume and unapologetic rarity.
