There are moments that one would like to capture: the deep blue of the sea before sunrise, the reflection of a ray on the water, the golden color of a landscape a few minutes before the day disappears. It is this fleeting sensation that the House FRED chooses to translate with Mr. FRED Golden Light, a collection of Haute Joaillerie imagined as a walk around light.
For its 90th anniversary, the Maison continues its dialogue with the universe of Fred Samuel, its founder, nicknamed the «Sun-Glowed Jeweler». Fifteen creations make up this new collection, each telling a story of the transformation of light on the Riviera.
Here, the stones are not simply showcased; they become witnesses of a specific moment.
As night gives way to day, the collection begins in the silence of dawn. The Tanzanites appear as a final trace of the night, with their blue reflections crossed by purple nuances. FRED He associates them with diamonds in airy compositions where the volumes seem to follow the natural movement of light. Some jewels transform, some pieces change their size: a way for the House to extend its idea of a living jewelry, designed to accompany different expressions.
Then comes a phenomenon almost impossible to describe: the green ray. This rare appearance inspires two creations where the opals from Australia meet the emeralds from Colombia. The colors seem to evolve according to the gaze, like a surface of water crossed by the sun.
The sea, mimosa and the colors of the Riviera. When day sets in, the Mediterranean becomes a palette of shades. The turquoises chosen by FRED They take up this infinite variation of marine colors. On a necklace, a bracelet, and a cocktail ring, the stones interact with diamonds and engraved mother-of-pearl. The rounded lines recall the movement of the waves while the gemstones seem to float in a composition in constant evolution.
Then another image of the Riviera appears: that of the mimosa in bloom. The yellow sapphires from Sri Lanka replace the small golden bouquets of nature. The Maison creates floral creations where every detail reproduces the lightness of the plant: the branches, the leaves, and the flowers seem animated by an invisible breath.
At the top of this luminous ascent appears an emblematic stone: the Sun of Gold. This yellow diamond weighing over 100 carats belongs to the heritage of FRED Since 1977. Its history is linked to that of the Samuel family and to this passion for gemstones capable of evoking immediate emotion.
Today, for the first time, this stone joins a creation of Haute Joaillerie.
At the center of a transformable necklace, the Sun of Gold becomes the centerpiece of a composition inspired by the solar star. Its emerald size and its Fancy Intense Yellow color are surrounded by diamonds that prolong its brilliance. The piece evokes a sun that would have been stopped in its movement.
