If you love Japan, you still have until March 3 to see the exhibition
Japan Japonism. Inspired objects, 1867-2018.
The Museum of Decorative Arts pays tribute to Japan. In doing so, they revealed the richness of their collections and a glimpse of the eclectic style, tastes, and creations that have given this heritage its contemporary brilliance.

In a scenography entrusted to Sou Fujimoto, a new generation of Japanese minimalist architects, this exhibition revolves around five themes: the actors of discovery, nature, time, movement, and innovation.

The opening up to the West by Japan in 1868 (the beginning of the Meiji era, a historical period during which Japan was to modernize) allowed French artists to discover new forms of Japonism and to influence their creations. Although this art fully emerged in the 1900s, it continues to inspire designers.
This Japanese spirit inspired the cartoonist Eugène Grasset and The jewelers like Paul and Henri Vever.

So come and be inspired by Japanese culture at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs until March 3, 2019.
