From the right bank to the left bank, the House Chaumet invests 165 Boulevard Saint-Germain for a beautiful exhibition Brilliant Writing.
The historic address at 12 Place Vendôme falls silent during a renovation.

It is interesting to find quotes from Chaumet in literary works or correspondence.
Balzac's letters to Madame Hanska highlight the talent and reputation of Fossin, who was then head of this prestigious house:
« Before the sublime Fossin dared to leave his diadems, the crowns of Princes, to pick up the stones collected by your daughter, he had to pray hard, humble himself to often leave my retreat where I am busy picking up poor phrases (…) Fossin is a king, it is a power.»

Later, it was the friendship of Pierre Sterlé, a avant-garde jeweler who would create jewelry for Chaumet, which Colette evokes in her last work in 1949, the «Blue Lantern»:
«When I meet him, I progress in the familiarity of a luxury that was never mine. I learn the names. I handle the beautiful yellow metal, which causes so much pain and war. I held a wonderful toy, promised and eagerly awaited, only once before its recipient. In the palm of my hand, I enclosed a stone, naked as a slave without a master. Because of its strange water, beyond red and beyond yellow, I thought I was stifling a flame.»

The exhibition dialogues between literary works and historical gems, but also with archival documents, drawings and photographs, such as the archives of the orders for the famous Picasso for Olga.
