PLUME DE CHANEL

When Gabrielle Chanel imagined her only and unique collection of high jewelry in 1932, she drew the outlines of it with motifs dear to her universe: the comet, the sun, the ribbon and the feather. The latter, light and mobile, embodies with grace the spirit of freedom that she infuses into her creations. Since then, the feather has traversed the decades, reinterpreted according to the inspirations of the CHANEL Studio de Création Joaillerie.

In 2010, Patrice Leguéreau, then director of the Studio, chose to dedicate his first collection of haute joaillerie to this aerial motif. His vision modernizes the feather by giving it new shapes and articulations, playing with its flexibility to better accompany the movements of the body. In 2024, the collection Plume de CHANEL This tribute is further enhanced by fifteen pieces of breathtaking fluidity. The pen’s strokes, subtly curved, sway freely, giving the whole a sense of almost vaporous lightness.

This new collection highlights jewelry with organic lines. From headpieces to open rings, each piece follows the natural curves with intuitive elegance. Feathers, with more delicate contours, seem to come to life upon contact with the skin. A transformable necklace, where a lace of pink sapphires frames an intense sapphire suspended above, illustrates this balance between softness and refinement. The delicate tones of pink and white, worn with diamonds, sapphires, and tourmalines, accentuate the poetry of the motif.

Last November, Patrice Leguéreau left us, leaving behind a legacy of rare finesse. For fifteen years, he was able to integrate his talent into the continuity of Gabrielle Chanel’s work, sensitively reinterpreting the motifs that were dear to her. Plume de CHANEL, The ‘ultima expressio’ of his vision illustrates with grace the poetic drive and freedom that animate the House’s haute joaillerie.
