PRECIOUS STONES IN THE SCHOOL OF JEWELRY ARTS

Exhibited for the first time to the general public, Guy Ladrière's remarkable collection is not intended to be encyclopedic but guided by beauty. He noted that two hundred pieces will be exhibited, from the Greek Antiquity to the 19th century, allowing for a continuous overview of techniques and styles.

Starting May 12, 2022, this exhibition will tell the story of the art of engraved stones from Antiquity to the 19th century. Drawn from an exceptional private collection, Greek and neoclassical statuettes, antique and medieval cameos, small imperial-era sculptures, and meauridian wedding rings and episcopal rings will be brought together to evoke all aspects of the millennia-old art of glyptics.
