Worms is a story of pearls.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the jeweler Worms, a specialist in fine pearls, settled on Rue Royale. In 1925, he was the first importer of cultured pearls in France. So, his showcases were so impressive that the jeweler’s jewelry and pearls became a benchmark.
It should be noted that the expertise of the Worms house attracts a young apprentice, Samuel Fred.
Indeed, the future famous jeweler Fred will be marked by these years spent in the world of pearls, an inspiration that he will never forget.
Thus, in 1950 the Maison Worms was joined by François Rambaud, who took over the management. It is worth noting that Worms became a household name in the pearl industry. Moreover, his expertise enabled him in the 1960s to create an alphabet of pearls to differentiate all the nuances of the material.
It is undeniable that a year later, it is Polynesia that changes Worms’ destiny.
In this regard, the beginnings of perliculture in Tahiti, and then the first harvest in 1978 of the famous black pearl, led the Rambaud family towards this trade, thus leaving the retail business. In fact, the shop on Rue Royale closed in 1985. Worms would go into hibernation. After that, it was Jérôme Térangi Rambaud, President of Rambaud SAS, who decided to revive the Worms House in 2015, which was reborn under the name Worms Paris.
