Vhernier invites Pae White to reinvent the sea in the form of jewelry.
The Italian house Vhernier Unveils a series of rings designed with the American artist Pae White. This collaboration takes the form of a limited edition where the marine universe meets the sculptural writing characteristic of contemporary jewelry.
The project originated in Milan, in the house’s boutique. A detail caught the artist’s attention: a handle shaped like a stylized crab. This motif resonated with his recent research into marine fragments observed on the beaches. From this encounter, the idea for a piece of jewelry was born, inspired by the structure of the animal, not as a figurative representation, but as a formal interpretation of its exoskeleton.
Pae White then develops a series of sketches in which the segments and articulations of the crab transform into angular lines. The ring takes the shape of a small sculpted volume, whose graphic tensions recall the internal logic of the shell.
In the Italian workshops Vhernier, This artistic vision meets a precise technical tradition. The house notably employs a process of superposition of materials, where the rock crystal acts as an optical lens. This transparency modifies the perception of the colors below and introduces a constantly evolving interplay of light.
The collection also echoes the oyster, a shell whose iridescent reflections inspire certain shades of stone. Diamonds, sapphires and gold thus form vibrant surfaces revealed through the crystal sphere that crowns each piece.
Ten variations make up the ensemble, each featuring a specific combination of colors and materials. Produced in limited editions, these rings extend the dialogue between art and craftsmanship, transforming a view of the marine world into a precious object.
With this collaboration, Vhernier It pursues an approach where jewelry approaches the art form: a wearable form, born from the meeting between plastic imagination and workshop work.
