Lovers now live to the rhythm of the day. Four chromatic variations evoke dawn, the light of morning, the glows of evening or the silver of moonlight. The characters, faithful to the balconies of dreams, continue their suspended rendezvous, while a new chapter unfolds under the guise of an unprecedented automaton: the watch. The celebration takes on even greater dimensions with two Extraordinary Objects that play on the rhythms of the sky and the heart. One of them, named Birth of Love, depicts a winged Cupid emerging from a nest of feathers within a setting sculpted in iron, petrified palm tree and translucent enamel. The other, turned towards the stars, unfolds a miniature cosmos, vibrant as the planets pass by and the changing light of the gems. These pieces tell of an ancient fascination with the invisible, that part of the dream that Van Cleef & Arpels achieves making it tangible.
More discreet, the jewel-encrusted watches continue this silent quest for beauty. The Cadenas, designed in 1935, returns this year in a variation combining yellow gold, diamonds and sapphires, true to its spirit of a discreet jewel.
