«Radical chic is the spirit of Galerie Parisienne,» or how vintage can also be avant-garde: A jewel by Suzanne Belperron and a table by Nicolas Thevenin.
Meeting with Emmanuelle Chassard and Sébastien Moinet-Bechar

Emmanuelle, what is your favorite stone?
A beautiful cushion-cut diamond; there is a lot of charm in these stones. And I prefer the old sizes, their light.
A piece of jewelry that makes you dream?
The jewels of Suzanne Belperron.

What gave you the passion for jewelry?
It is indeed a passion of mine and has always been one. My father was an antique dealer, so I was lucky enough to see beautiful jewelry from an early age.
A piece of jewelry that best represents you?
A bracelet or a ring. We can easily see them by just showing our hands.
What do you like about your job?
It’s a profession where you’re constantly learning. These are objects that have lived, they have things to tell. There are also the encounters with incredible people, enthusiasts or just curious. You never get bored.

A music you listen to?
The rock of the 1970s, or melancholic music.

Your favorite work of art?
The painter Roy Adzak, particularly this 1967 painting «Venus».

What is the concept of La Galerie Parisienne?
It’s the love of jewelry and the curiosity of furniture.
I like the idea of unique jewelry and artist furniture; it’s a passion I share with Sébastien Moinet-Bechar, a requirement of the look we have in common.
A gallery is a jewel for a woman and an object for a man.
For Sébastien, it is necessary to return to basics; the history of art is important. The furniture is a representation of an era, of a way of life. It is the universe of the 1960s and 1970s, where forms are analyzed and decomposed into modules and then recomposed to give unlimited forms. This approach to form is a language. We have a role as intermediaries.
