LALIQUE, BETWEEN JEWELRY AND ART OF GLASS

Founded by René Lalique, The Maison Lalique holds a unique place in the history of French jewelry and decorative arts. At the end of the 19th century, the creator renewed the jewel by emphasizing imagination, materials, and the power of drawing rather than the sole value of the stones. Inspired by nature, women, and the forms of life, he combines Enamel, glass, opals, diamonds and colored stones in emblematic creations of the’Art Nouveau. His language then extends into the work of glass, which has become one of the hallmarks of his work. Lalique, Today an international reference in decorative arts.
