Fabio Salini: the rebellious jeweler from Rome
Born and trained in Rome, Fabio Salini initially studied geology at the University of Rome, before working at Cartier and then at Bulgari, where he learned the art of design, stone buying and production. Drawing on this dual scientific and jewelry expertise, he presented his first collection in 1999 at Petochi, one of the oldest Italian houses, thus paving the way for a whole new aesthetic language in the world of jewelry.
Salini stands out for her radical exploration of materials, combining rock crystal, silk, leather, galuchat and even titanium and carbon fiber with exceptional precious stones. This conceptual and resolutely contemporary approach, where tribal influences, Art Deco spirit and the glamour of the 1980s intersect, earned her the nickname «Rebel Jeweler», a title given to her by the jewelry historian Vivienne Becker in her monograph dedicated to her.
From his private atelier in Via di Monserrato, in the heart of Rome, and his London studio, Fabio Salini continues to reinvent the codes of haute joaillerie, between historical heritage and industrial modernity.
