Elena Votsi: the Greek jeweler with a mythical touch
Born in 1964 on Hydra Island in Greece, Elena Votsi has always drawn inspiration from the Mediterranean light, the white architecture of the Cyclades, and the rich ancient heritage of her country. Trained in painting at the School of Fine Arts in Athens before obtaining a master's degree in jewelry and goldsmithing at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London, she develops a personal jewelry style that blends art and craftsmanship.
His most notable feat remains the redesign of the Olympic Games medal won in 2003: a historic turning point, as it was the first change in the design of the medal since 1928. Since then, his signature has appeared on the reverse of every Olympic medal awarded worldwide.
Elena Votsi has also collaborated with major international fashion houses, such as Gucci and Ralph Lauren, and her creations are exhibited in the boutiques of the largest Greek museums — the Acropolis Museum, the Benaki Museum, the Cycladic Art Museum. Faithful to Hydra, where she opened her first boutique, she continues to draw inspiration from Greek mythology and history for timeless jewelry that is resolutely contemporary.
