THE GAMES OF THE DARKNESS BY HERMÈS

As one might expect, this collection holds other surprises, such as these rings adorned with raw stones. To draw attention to their beauty in their raw state, Pierre Hardy simply highlighted their shadows. In other words, just like a geologist, the light reveals a revelation.

First of all, we think of light effects, but it’s a bold collection that we’re offering. HERMÈS by exploring The Games of the Shadow. Because for this 2022 high-jewellery collection, Pierre Hardy (Director of Creation of the maison’s jewellery) chose to tell the story of the movement of the shadows and its relationship with light.

Thus, the jewels are adorned with colored stones that dispel the shadows to project intense radiance. It is worth mentioning that this dark shade is gentle and protective; it allows the light from the stones to expand. For example, on the Chain of Shadow necklace, the white diamonds are juxtaposed with black spinels and sapphires. The double gradations give volume to the anchor chain links.
Furthermore, the edging is studied stone by stone to ensure that the finished necklace fits together smoothly.
It took seven hundred hours of beading and nearly two thousand hours of jeweler’s work.

If the shadow widens the jewel, it also doubles it. Moreover, this collection plays with the concept of duality, the pairing of the sun and the moon.

As one might expect, this collection reserves other surprises, such as these rings adorned with rough stones. To draw attention to their raw beauty, Pierre Hardy simply highlighted their shade. That is, like a geologist, the light reveals a revelation. Then here, this is amplified by its shade, specifically a gradation from shadow to light.
