The dragon is a powerful creature in Chinese mythology, associated with the ability to control time. It is also a symbol of protection and kindness, often depicted wrapped around a pearl or precious treasure.
For jewelers, the year of the dragon offers a new opportunity to showcase their craftsmanship, with unlimited creative freedom.

It should be noted that representing dragons is not so simple for jewelry designers. Representing them requires mastering the proportions, movements, color effects, and even the eyes of this legendary creature. However, it is precisely this challenge that drives jewelers to push their limits and create unique and spectacular pieces.
Among the antique jewels we can mention the remarkable clip Dragon from 1970 from the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels. The protective creature, adorned with gold and wood scales, symbolizes the benevolent dragon that watches over a precious treasure. A nod to the famous wood beloved by the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels. Thus, the power of the dragon and the tranquility of the wood stand out in this beautiful creation.

Among the examples of this new year we can appreciate the ring Dragon Flower by Anna Hu. This ring depicts a dragon wrapping its body around a flower resembling a rose. The dragon’s tail ends in a pear-shaped diamond, while cabochon rubies are set in the center of the flower and bud, creating a piece of exceptional elegance.

The Piaget house, too, celebrates the Year of the Dragon with an exceptional capsule collection of watches and Haute Joaillerie pieces with a bold design. It is extravagant and very exclusive jewellery as it is made to order. It embodies the Chinese symbols of strength and power, hope and rebirth, total harmony and perfect balance. Each piece of this collection bursts with emotion and vitality, celebrating the Maison’s signature, its craftsmanship and its watchmaking expertise. In keeping with the watch Emperador . Particularly captivating and daring, the animal engraved in gold wraps around the case and dial. Sapphires and diamonds set with snow form a gradient, representing a blue sky dotted with sparkling stars. This Piaget watch embodies the striking fusion of Haute Horlogerie and Haute Joaillerie in a creation of absolutely unexpected beauty.

By adding an extra touch to this year of the dragon, the creator Lydia Courteille proposes a necklace Dragon fascinating. This high-quality piece of jewelry is from the collection Feng Shui. The necklace features an ornate dragon adorned with diamonds holding precious lavender jade stones engraved on it. Representing one of the most powerful mythological creatures, it is a true good luck charm. It traditionally brings luck, authority, protection, strength, and fertility.
Undoubtedly, jewelry adorned with dragons is like a charm, capturing the mythical power of this legendary creature. These often unique pieces carry luck and positive energy, bringing a touch of magic and protection. Thus, on a piece of jewelry it acts as a benevolent guardian of prosperous moments and happiness.

May this year of Wood Dragon, rich in symbols and exceptional creations, bring happiness and wonder to all. May these works inspired by its symbolism illuminate your days and accompany you throughout this beautiful year. A promising year where jewelry creativity meets the power of the dragon, offering a captivating journey through art and tradition. Happy New Year to all.
